ABOUT

Membership is open to opera lovers who support the purposes of the Pikes Peak Opera League and are willing to volunteer their time and talent.

We are organized exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes to:

  • Promote knowledge and appreciation of opera;

  • Encourage and support young and aspiring opera and musical theater talent; and, 

  • Support Opera Theatre of the Rockies.

​

Originally founded in 1979 as the Colorado Festival Opera Guild, the organization has long supported opera and musical theater in the Region through thousands of hours of dedicated fundraising activity. The Pikes Peak Opera League, as it was named in 2001, continues the fine work of the Guild through a strong and committed membership and Board of Directors.

What benefits do I receive as a member of the Pikes Peak Opera League?
As a member of PPOL you are able to participate fully in League meetings and events. 

 

How will I receive event invitations?
Event notices and invitations to most member events are sent by email. Want to make sure we have the most up-to-date email address on file? Contact us at ndenaray@gmail.com. 

 

Are there different levels of membership?
There are membership categories including:

  • Individual Membership: $50

  • Couples/Family Members: $75
     

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

When will my membership expire?
Membership fees are for the PPOL fiscal and program year of Sept. 1 to Aug. 31 of each year. Please renew by August 1st to be included in the Membership Directory.

How much are dues?

The PPOL Board recently voted to increase dues to $50 for individuals and $75 for couples/families. We have not had a dues increase for 10 years, and costs have gone up 28% nationwide in that time period. Your dues help defray the cost of our administrative expenses. As a member, you receive free admission to five programs each year ($10 per program) as well as periodic newsletters with information that keeps you informed of other local opera programs and events. It really is a bargain. 

 

When you renew your membership, you will be offered the opportunity to donate to our scholarship fund and/or sponsor a program, event, vocalist or accompanist. Facility fees and other costs have increased, and we ask your help so that we may continue to bring you the finest talent in the Rocky Mountain Region. Please be as generous as possible when considering donations and sponsorships.  When you sponsor a program or event you will receive recognition in the promotional advertising as well as at the event, and you will know that you are supporting our mission.

Membership dues are valid from September 1 through August 31 of each year. Dues go to help defray administrative costs.

Membership dues do not cover the costs of programming, which include venue rental, accompanists and vocalist stipends, all of which contribute to our mission of creating funds for singers’ scholarships.

PPOL is an all-volunteer, not for profit organization and can always use help. Please let us know where you would like to volunteer your talents and expertise:

Hospitality: with other team members provide refreshments to be served at any event not being catered.

Membership: create nametags for new members; attend and distribute nametags at members events; act as greeter at events

Young Voice Program: help create a program for high school age singers to expose them to a professional experience, with scholarships awarded for vocal lessons.
